No sooner is the new Dye DSR on the market, already seething in the paintball forums and communities. Hardly any other markers have been as polarized as the Dye DSR in recent years. It’s the ProtoMatrix, the first, real midrange marker from Dye. With its UVP of 899.95 Euro, the DSR is clearly below most of the current high-end markers, but technically can easily keep up with them, or even exceed them in some cases.

We took the new Dye DSR for you under the magnifying glass and tell you what there is in the new model.

WHAT IS NEW ABOUT THE DYE DSR?

The list of innovations is defintive long, almost all relevant parts have been reworked or even completely developed. Below we have summarized the most important improvements.

THE ARC BOLT

Dye has completely reworked its tried and tested Fuse Bolt, the result is the new ARC Bolt, a system with a working pressure of only noc h115 PSI puts in the shadows. At the same time, the system has become approximately 30% more efficient than in all previous models.

THE HYPER 6 REGULATOR

The HyperRegulator series is standard in all dye markers and has been further developed for the DSR. Particularly interesting is the position of the regulator. This is no longer in the front grip, but above the ASA connector in the handle of the DSR. At the same time the batteries were placed in the front handle to create space for the Hyper6.

THE NEW OLED BOARD WITH JOYSTICK

To adjust the marker, Dye has donated a clear OLED board to his DSR. This can be easily set in the menu via a joystick. Some players will already know this principle from the Luxe.

ULTRALIGHT DESIGN

The entire body has been optimized to minimal weight and has been milled down to the relevant wall thicknesses. The result is a simple design that convinces through simplicity, but does not appeal to every player. However, one has one of the lightest and most efficient markers in the world. A real racehorse, that was trimmed purely on performance.

OUR CONCLUSION TO THE DYE DSR – THIS CANNON HAS IT IN ITSELF AND DEFINITELY TIDY WHAT ON THE BOX!

Dye has completely surrendered from its old middle class platform, the Protoreflex, and with the DSR not only a strong successor created, but really in other parts a completely new marker developed. We personally find it good when a manufacturer is willing to rethink its tried and tested concepts. This has been achieved impressively with the Dye DSR.

WHAT AWAITS US NEXT FROM DYE? IS THERE A NEW DYE M3 PAINTBALL MARKER?

The rumors are already booming. In some forums it is already allowed that Dye parralel to the DSR on a successor model of its M2 works. The work piece is simply Dye M3. The M-series of the Dye Paintball Markers collection, launched in 2016, is consequently continued here http://prospaintball.com you can have more Paintball guns.

Unfortunately, nothing is known about the technical data of the Dye M3, but we are assuming that it will be another major step in technology and development. The Dye DSR has notched up the bar not only for the competitors, but could also make its big sister, the DYY M3 do well in terms of the sales figures.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE DYE M3 – WHEN DOES THE DYE M3 COME ONTO THE MARKET?

The really big novelties of the year are published at the Paintball World Cup in Orlando. If the rumors are correct, then we should know more in October and get to see the new Dye M3 later this year.
